I’m currently an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) working towards a Chemical Biological Engineering degree with a minor in Japanese.

Research and Work Experience

Summer 2008

Student researcher at the MIT Langer Lab performing drug release kinetics modeling using scaffolds which are basically microspheres made out of polymer fused together. I’m also trying to determine the optimum fusion time for these scaffolds for drug release purposes.

Fall 2007

Worked as a teacher assistant (TA) for the 5.111 (Introduction to Chemical Sciences) class at MIT. My duties included grading Problem Sets and Exams and going over material from lectures in recitations to make sure students understood it. As a TA, I was also responsible to watch over the student’s performance in class and try to deal with any issues.

Summer 2007

Chemistry Workshop Facilitator and Residential Advisor for the Interphase Program. Job duties were the same as a Teacher Assistant (TA) plus advising a few students to make their transition to MIT as smooth as possible.

January 2007

Worked as part of the Neutrino and Dark Matter Group at MIT. My part of the research was to build a light tight box in which we could test Silicon Photomultipliers. For this it was necessary to also build two circuits which had to be connected to an oscilloscope and a power supply. During this month I built the light-tight box and the two circuits, and made sure that they worked correctly.

Summer 2006

I spent my summer at MIT’s Interphase Program, you can find more information about the program here.
